Canada Post Update after Press Conference

Did you know Canada.. here's what we know now about the looming strike with Canada Post..

* Postal workers will continue to deliver cheques to pensioners and social assistance recipients even in the event of a national strike or lockout.

* CUPW says they do not want a strike, they want a collective agreement, will not comment on the likelihood of a strike.

* The union will be able to exercise its right to strike and Canada Post its right to lock out at midnight on May 24th. Both parties must provide 72 hours notice of their intention prior to a strike or lockout.

  1. Good to hear prisoners will still be getting their cheques, our company had to actually complain today to Canada Post to get our mail delivered by our carrier. Mail was post dated up to 3 weeks ago with more than $1 million in receivables! Made us feel even better when a private contractor pulled up with all our mail in the trunk of their car! Way to go guys!

  2. Yikes, that's scary about the mail - I thought things were business as usual until next week.

Why weren't they delivering the mail to your business?
