Did you know Canada.. with Valentine's Day coming up Dentyne is exposing what attracts Canadians!
“Dentyne knows fresh breath can make or break chemistry, but we wanted to find out what other ‘Elements of Attraction’ spark a romantic reaction,” Pam Clarkson, Senior Brand Manager of Dentyne Canada is quoted as saying.
Here's some of the results..
When it comes to chemistry which of the following is the most essential trait or element of attraction in someone?
33% say Humorous! - next up was Marriage material at 12%, Successful came in way behind at 9% and I was really surprised to see Adventurous at 8% (thought there must be some pretty Adventurous folks in SK/MB, they put Adventurous at 13%!!)
Which of the following traits would you use to best describe yourself?
25% say Low Maintenance - hmmm.. I'm not so sure I agree with that! AND, only 10% named “Low Maintenance” as the most essential trait or element of attraction in someone else. Next up was Humorous at 21%, that one I can get behind.
When you feel an attraction to someone, do you act on it?
31% said YES and 32% said NO! Leaving the rest saying N/A - how close is that? However, that number jumps to a 43% YES for those aged 18 to 34, and 46% YES for those who speak French! Do you act on it??
This Valentine's Day Dentyne is ready for a chemistry debate. Just visit the Dentyne Canada Facebook site for discussions around the “Elements of Attraction” right up to February 14!
Everyone knows if you want to attract that special someone you better start with fresh breath first, so we're giving away 5 packs of Dentyne gum! That's the big packs holding 12 packs of gum each!! Enter below for your chance to win..

I definately think the most imporant connection is a heart connection. You'll spend your life seeing attractive people - but you can't love them all. You'll have friends of both genders who share a common intrest or laugh at the same jokes. But if you can't FEEL your spouse in your heart, even one the days when you want to smack him with the dirty clothes he left on the floor, again, you don't have love.
ReplyDeleteInitially looks, but intelligence and sense of humour is huge.

ReplyDeleteWhat made my heart race when I met DH was his eyes and the fact that he had the best manners I'd ever seen for a 17 year old boy!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say I"m low maintenance, but I don't think I'm high maintenance either. I'm not sure where that leaves me. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIn terms of what attracts me... beautiful eyes, great smile (including good teeth!), a sense of humour, generosity of spirit, kindhearted, respectful, ... Shall I go on?
Their eyes
ReplyDeletea great sense of honour is crucial!!
ReplyDeleteFor me and my husband it was his smile I loved, he has one dimple like me so I noticed right away and his laugh, it made me want to get to know him better. Of course the fact that he was gorgeous, well built, and tall helped a lot. To this day I love the way he smells, so good, like chocolate. Pheromones have a lot to do with things funny enough.

Honesty and being down to earth
ReplyDeleteIt is all about personality! :-) Must have much in common.
ReplyDeleteI like someone who is different, a bit quirky even and they have to be smart , someone you can talk too
ReplyDeleteA sense of humor and honesty
ReplyDeleteA warm and generous heart.
ReplyDeleteThat sense of humour thing is a lie, people say that because that is what you are supposed to say. Women like rich and powerful, employed, bad boys and looks (notice no sense of humour). If that were true, women would be lined up outside YukYuks and they are not. Men like looks, i.e. good figure and pretty face. No crap about nice eyes, more to love, etc. And they like 'em young. Women peak at 22, by 42 stick a fork in them, they are done.
ReplyDeleteKindness, with good hygeine a close second! sandyor22@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteFor me, its a sense of humour! (& I don't care if they have or don't have $, good looks etc) Being able to laugh at/with the things that life throws you is so so important!
