Did you know Canada.. this coming Monday February 20th is Family Day. This occurs on the 3rd Monday in February and corresponds with Presidents Day in the United States.
Not everyone gets the day off though, it's a regular working day in British Columbia, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador (it is a school board holiday) and the territories. Also federal employees in ALL provinces still have to head to work - this includes Postal Workers.
Check with your local businesses about what events are available, some places like museums, movie theatres and skating rinks will be open so families can spend time together doing one of these great activities!
Do you get Family Day off? How are you celebrating?

ReplyDeletenothing -my husbands a truck driver and this holiday does not apply to him-so happy family day.
ReplyDeleteWe love family day. We plan on taking the kids bowling and out to dinner on Monday and over the weekend do tons of crafts and play tons of games.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, we were thinking about glow in the dark bowling!
DeleteHubby has to work, and my kindergarten kid doesn't have classes on Monday, so I kind of forgot about this.
ReplyDeleteKids are home from school, but I am not sure what we will be doing yet.
ReplyDeleteI do not have kids. I will most likely be spending the day blogging!

No holiday for me either, in fact, I don't know too many people who do get this day off. I wish they had put a little more thought into it before creating it. It would be nice to be able celebrate a day called 'Family Day' as a national holiday, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI am always off (sahm) but hubby has to work. I imagine the boys and I will do something...no idea what though.

I love family day. It's still new enough that I'm not used to it, so it always comes as a surprise to me when it rolls around.
ReplyDeleteNo major plans on my end, but we're hoping to visit both my family and my wife's family, so there's a bit of driving in the future for me!
