Camp Day at Tim Hortons

Did you know Canada.. since 1991, Tim Hortons has been celebrating Camp Day. The day where they donate all the proceeds from coffee sales to sending kids to camp.

Not a coffee drinker? Buy one for a friend and cheer up someone's day.

To make a donation through text, please text the word CAMP to 45678 to make a $5.00 donation to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation.

Here's some great info from timhortons.com that shows where your dollars go..

$10 - Provides a child with a new camp T-shirt.
$20 - Provides a child with a backpack for their camping necessities.
$50 - Provides a child with a warm sleeping bag.
$100 - Provides a child with nutritious and delicious meals three times a day.
$200 - Assists with the purchase of supplies for ropes courses and climbing towers, allowing children to reach new heights.
$500 - Helps upgrade the fleet of canoes, kayaks and rafts that give children the opportunity to try something new and exciting.
$1000 - Provides a first-class camp experience for a child where they will learn more about themselves and return home with a positive attitude about their future and the confidence to acheive the goals they learned to set for themselves.

It doesn't matter how big or small your donation is. It just matters that you give.

Rrrrroll up the Rim!

Did you know Canada.. exciting news!! Roll of the Rim will be starting up again on Monday, February 20th!

I've heard there is a 1 in 6 chance to win with the usual prizes - cars, 3D tvs, camping packages, $100 Timmy cards and millions of food prizes! They will also be bringing back the online game (if you recall, I won a $25 card on the online game last year) and I've heard they may be adding a new way to play through your smart phone!

As I mentioned on Twitter, having a roll up the rim cup in my hand screams SPRING TIME to me, how about you??

Are you looking forward to rrrrrrolling up the rim? I know I am!!

Can't go wrong with MORE Coffee

Did you know Canada.. Canadian favourite, Tim Hortons, will be updating their cup sizes this coming Monday.

We've mentioned this before, and after testing in a few markets the new cup sizes are coming to Timmys across the nation! Sizes now go from extra small to a new extra large 24oz cup!

So if you usually order a large that is the new medium and so on to make room for this super sized cup.

Will the new 24oz extra large be your new cup size? It might be mine! ;-) I just hope it stays warm long enough!

Tim Hortons Camp Day

Did you know Canada.. today is Camp Day at Tim Hortons, this means the ENTIRE coffee sale from each coffee is donated to help send a kid to camp. I guess I better get a couple then ;)

Smoothies Update!

Did you know Canada..  some of you had me worried that I had given out false info because many of your local Tim Hortons did not have smoothies yet - including one in the larger city near to us.

But today my boys and I went to our local Timmys and they had smoothies!

We give 2 thumbs up for both mixed berry and strawberry-banana from my boys and I give 2 thumbs up to the mixed berry.

Will be a fantastic treat for the spring/summer and a great way to get a serving of fruit into the kiddos.

Let us know if you tried them yet and what you think!!

Smoothies!

Did you know Canada.. starting Monday you can now pick up a Fruit Smoothie with your morning coffee at Timmys!

Tim Hortons plans to add pre-blended, mixed berry and banana strawberry fruit smoothies to its menu starting Monday. A 10-ounce smoothie will cost $1.99 and contain 130 calories, zero grams of fat and a full serving of fruit.

Sounds like an excellent way to get in a serving of fruit and nice to have a healthy choice through the drive-thru.

Will you be picking one up next week?

Rrrrrrroll up the Rim!

Did you know Canada.. Roll up the Rim starts again this coming Monday at Tim Hortons. Last year thanks to social media sites like Twitter and Facebook there was a lot of controversy about whether the chances really were 1 in 9 that you would roll up a winning rim. I know I got at least 1 coffee every day and so were other family members and we certainly weren't winning 1 in 9, I remember complaining that I only won once and it was a donut!  Let's hope for better results this year!

The prizes this year include Toyota Matrix cars, Panasonic 3-D televisions, Napoleon barbecues, Raleigh mountain bikes and Tim Cards with a value of $100.

Let us know what you're winning and how often!

Did you know Canada.. there is a Tim Hortons in Kandahar, Afghanistan for our troops. The President and CEO of Tim Hortons Don Schroeder traveled to Kandahar this past Christmas to visit the troops, hand out Tim Cards and serve coffee. Profits from this location are reinvested in "morale and welfare programs for Canadian Forces members".
